The Conservation-Based Restoration of a Modern Masterwork

Join Kelly Sutherlin McLeod, FAIA at the offices of Kelly Sutherlin McLeod Architecture, Inc. and former offices of Edward A. Killingworth, FAIA  for an intimate and insightful talk on the Killingsworth Office Building, designed in 1955 during the early and informative years of Killingsworth’s long and illustrious career. This building was recognized by the National AIA with the Award of Merit in 1956.

As a colleague, friend, and protégé of Ed Killingsworth, Kelly Sutherlin McLeod is honored to be the current steward of this iconic building which is now the headquarters of her architectural practice. The property is a local City landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The conservation-based restoration of the site, building and interiors is in progress, remains focused on maintaining authenticity and significance, and exemplifies best preservation practice for a modern historic resource.
