Edward A. Killingsworth Project, pre-recorded with live Q&A
Wednesday, September 23, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Join filmmaker Eric Bricker (Visual Acoustics: The Modernism of Julius Shulman, Alumination) for an engaging discussion on his current project in development, KILLINGSWORTH.
Inspired by the life and work of Edward A. Killingsworth, FAIA, the film focuses on the transformation of local Long Beach firm Killingsworth, Brady & Smith (KBS) into that of an international practice capable of accommodating large scale projects spanning the globe. A relatively unsung architectural great, Ed Killingsworth and his three firms (KBS, KBA, KSLW) went on to produce more than 1,000 projects over the course of a 48-year career of independent practice.
Guests joining the discussion include architect Kelly Sutherlin McLeod, FAIA (KSMA), steward of the 1955 Killingsworth office building; Ron Banco, a KBS associate from 1958 – 1966; and architect Ron Lindgren who joined Killingsworth in 1970 and later became a partner in Killingsworth, Stricker, Lindgren, Wilson and Associates (KSLW).
