Designing for Culture: Long Beach Museum of Art, Frederick Fisher and Partners
Monday, June 3, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
FreeSpeaker:
Joseph Coriaty, FAIA managing partner FF&P and lead architect on the Long Beach Museum of Art project
In 2000, Frederick Fisher and Partners (FF&P) designed a new 12,800 SF building, now known as the Hartman Pavilion, for the Long Beach Museum of Art. The building is holistically integrated into the museum campus and has become a well-loved destination for both locals and visitors. The site, situated on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean and occupied by two historic structures, presented both interesting problems and the potential for innovative solutions during the design phase. Joseph Coriaty, FAIA will join for a discussion on the planning of the Long Beach Museum of Art in the context of some of FF&P’s seminal projects.
The museum will open at 5:30 PM to allow visitors the opportunity to see the exhibition Patrick Angus.
Cash bar available.
